Every company begins with an idea. Carboritam began with a question.

What if one of the world’s greatest climate opportunities has been hiding in plain sight?

Across homes, offices, factories, warehouses and transport systems, refrigeration and air-conditioning have become indispensable to modern life. Yet, hidden within these systems are refrigerants—gases that, if released into the atmosphere, can have a climate impact hundreds or even thousands of times greater than carbon dioxide.

The technology to recover these gases already exists. The science is well established. The environmental benefits are undeniable.

Yet millions of kilograms of refrigerants continue to be released every year because the systems needed to recover, monitor and responsibly manage them remain fragmented or underdeveloped.

This realization became the foundation of Carboritam. Rather than waiting for future technologies to solve tomorrow’s climate challenges, we asked a different question:

How can engineering solve today’s avoidable emissions?

That question continues to shape every project we undertake.

The Meaning of Carboritam

Names matter because they shape identity. Carboritam combines two ideas that define who we are.

Carbo: Represents the carbon challenge facing our planet. 

It acknowledges the urgent need to reduce greenhouse gas emissions while recognising that climate solutions must be grounded in science and measurable outcomes.

Ritam: Derived from the ancient Sanskrit word Ṛta (ऋत).

Ritam represents universal order, harmony and natural balance. It reflects the belief that nature functions through interconnected systems where balance sustains life. Human progress should strengthen that balance—not weaken it.

For us, Ritam is more than inspiration. It is our compass.

Every refrigerant recovered, every tonne of emissions prevented, every project completed, every innovation developed -> Is one step toward restoring that balance.
